Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

Columbia Mobile Notary operates under South Carolina law as a mobile notary public service provider. By law, once a notarization is performed and the notary seal is affixed, the notarial act is final, irreversible, and non-refundable, regardless of third-party rejection, dispute, or dissatisfaction with the document’s content or outcome.

We are not attorneys, and we do not offer legal advice, review, or verify the legal sufficiency of any document presented. Therefore, refunds will not be issued for:

  • Improperly prepared documents,

  • Rejection by banks, courts, or agencies,

  • Failure to understand your own document or signing obligations.

You agree that all services rendered by Columbia Mobile Notary are delivered in good faith and that you understand our role is limited to verifying identity, witnessing signatures, and affixing our notarial seal in accordance with state law.

Refund Eligibility – No Refunds Under Any Circumstances

Columbia Mobile Notary maintains a strict no-refund policy. Due to the time-sensitive, mobile, and legally binding nature of notarial services, no refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Cancellations for any reason, regardless of notice given

  • Client or signer no-shows, or refusal/inability to sign

  • Documents rejected by a bank, government agency, court, or third party

  • Unsigned, incomplete, or improperly prepared documents presented at the appointment

  • Client dissatisfaction with the content, terms, or outcome of the document

  • Changes in circumstance, signer availability, or second thoughts after booking

  • Failure to understand or meet legal requirements for notarization (e.g., valid ID)

Fees cover our notary’s time, travel, document preparation, and appointment block — not just the notarial act itself. Once an appointment is scheduled and a time slot is reserved, those resources are committed to you and cannot be rebooked.

Even in the rare event that notarization is not completed due to signer refusal or unqualified documentation, the trip fee and any applicable wait or after-hours charges remain fully due and payable.

By booking our services, you acknowledge and accept this no-refund policy in full.

Refund Process & Dispute Prevention

  • Refunds, if approved, will be issued within 7 business days using the original method of payment.

  • You must provide proof of payment and documentation of the issue.

  • Chargebacks filed without first contacting us will be treated as fraudulent and aggressively disputed, and may result in:

    • Legal action

    • Submission of client name to fraud databases

    • Permanent refusal of future service

By scheduling an appointment with Columbia Mobile Notary, you agree to:

  • These refund terms

  • The finality of any notarial act

  • Our discretion in handling cancellation and service disputes
